Scranton, PA -- Scranton’s top-seeded Knights needed overtime to fend off a resilient Williamsport squad, securing a dramatic 44-43 victory in the District 2-4 Class 6A semifinal matchup.
Johnathon Levine led the way for Scranton with 13 points, including a key three-pointer, while Jayden Burrell dominated inside with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Scranton’s ability to hit from beyond the arc proved crucial, as the Knights knocked down four three-pointers compared to Williamsport’s zero.
On the other side, Kyreek Bradshaw carried Williamsport with 14 points, while Tevin Williams contributed 12 in the hard-fought battle. Despite a strong showing, Williamsport struggled from deep, failing to make a three-point shot all game.
With this victory, Scranton books its ticket to the Class 6A subregional championship at Mohegan Arena, where they will face the winner of Wilkes-Barre Area vs. Hazleton. One thing is certain—Scranton has been tested and is more than ready for the next challenge.
