Valley View went on the road Saturday and put together a statement win, taking down Wyoming Area 5-2 behind a dominant first half and a hat trick from Jagger Roe.
The Cougars struck early and often, with Roe opening the scoring just over five minutes in off a feed from Giovagnoli. Roe added his second midway through the half with help from Ethan Namlick before Braden Loff buried one of his own on an assist from Gavin Walsh to give Valley View a 3-0 cushion at the break.
The second half opened the same way, as Loff finished off a pass from Roe less than two minutes in. Roe then completed his hat trick off a feed from Loff in the 49th minute to extend the lead to 5-0.
Wyoming Area fought back, refusing to go quietly on their home field. Jacob Cobb capitalized on a setup from Christian Muroski to put the Warriors on the board in the 61st minute. Six minutes later, Ben Rogish added another, finishing a pass from Jonas Kremski to cut into the deficit.
Still, Valley View’s early firepower proved too much to overcome. The Cougars left the Wyoming Area soccer field with a decisive win, outshooting the Warriors 17-10 and holding a 4-0 edge in corners.
