TAYLOR, PA -- In a dominant performance, top-seeded Riverside overpowered Dunmore 80-58 in the District 2 Class 3A semifinals on Saturday night. The Vikings used a strong three-point shooting effort and balanced scoring to pull away and punch their ticket to the championship game.

Gerry Rose led Riverside with 23 points, including three three-pointers, while Brayden Rose added 20 to the cause. Connor McNally (13 points) and freshman Nico Antoniacci (11 points) also made key contributions for the Vikings, who drilled eight threes as a team.

Despite the loss, Brayden Canavan was the game's leading scorer, pouring in 27 points for Dunmore, fueled by five three-pointers. However, the Bucks struggled to match Riverside’s firepower, finishing with just seven three-pointers and five made free throws compared to the Vikings' 14 makes at the line.

With the victory, Riverside advances to face No. 2 Holy Cross in the District 2 Class 3A championship at Mohegan Arena on Thursday night. This will mark the fourth meeting between the two powerhouse programs this season, but this time—a District championship is on the line...get your popcorn ready!
