The gym was electric, the stands packed, and the student sections loud and proud (Old Forge Student Section Video). In an atmosphere that embodied the spirit of high school basketball, the Riverside Vikings delivered a gutsy overtime victory over the Old Forge Blue Devils, 63-58, in what will be remembered as a classic.

Riverside’s Nico Antoniacci (Post Game Interview) was unstoppable, pouring in 28 points to lead all scorers. He had the crowd roaring with every shot, going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line and nailing five three-pointers. Each time Old Forge seemed to build momentum, Antoniacci found a way to answer back, delivering under the brightest lights.

Gerry Rose added 11 points for the Vikings, coolly sinking 2-of-3 free throws and adding a key three-pointer in crunch time. His brother Brayden Rose chipped in with 9 points, battling inside for tough baskets. Connor McNally also came through with 8 points, providing much-needed depth in a game where every bucket mattered.

Old Forge fought tooth and nail, led by Cameron Parker’s 18 points. Parker hit three three-pointers to keep the Blue Devils in the hunt but struggled at the free-throw line, going 1-for-6 in a game where every point was precious. Camren Krushnowski and DJ Fox each added 12 points, with Krushnowski drilling four three-pointers and Fox hitting two.

The game was a back-and-forth battle from the start, with both teams trading blows in front of a crowd that brought the energy. Every basket felt monumental, every defensive stop a momentum shifter. As regulation ended in a deadlock, the tension in the gym was palpable.

Overtime:

Riverside found a way to close. Antoniacci’s clutch shooting putting down 7 points in OT, paired with critical contributions from the Rose brothers and McNally, lifted the Vikings past their rivals. The final moments were pure chaos, with cheers from the home crowd drowning out the whistle as the game ended in Riverside’s favor.

For Riverside, this win wasn’t just about the scoreboard. It was about grit, teamwork, and delivering when it mattered most. As the players celebrated with their classmates, it was clear this victory meant everything.

For the fans in attendance, it was the kind of night that reminds you why high school basketball is so special.
