Pocono Mountain West senior forward Adrian Brito has been selected to represent the Dominican Republic's 19U Fedombal National Basketball Team at the upcoming FIBA World Cup in Switzerland this summer. The 6'6" standout, who recently committed to East Stroudsburg University, continues to build on an already impressive high school career.

Brito's journey with the Dominican national program began three years ago when he first tried out and made the team.

"Yes, there was a tryout three years ago," Brito shared. "When I first came out, I made the team, and ever since, I've been continuing to come out and play with them." His dedication has paid off, earning him a spot on the roster for the prestigious international tournament.
During his tenure at Pocono Mountain West, Brito has been a cornerstone of the Panthers' success. He became the 11th player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points, finishing with 1,409 points, placing him among the top scorers in the program's history. His senior season was marked by a 22-4 record, an undefeated 10-0 run in the EPC Monroe Division, and a District XI 5A Championship. Brito’s performance earned him First Team All-EPC honors and regional recognition as one of the area’s top players.
Beyond high school, Brito honed his skills on the AAU circuit, playing for Team Fermin between his sophomore and junior years and for Philly Pride during the summer before his senior season. These experiences have contributed to his development as a versatile and dynamic player.

Looking ahead, Brito is eager to compete on the international stage.

"The games begin in the summer; they will be played in Switzerland," he noted. "I'll play for one to two weeks in Switzerland." This opportunity not only showcases his talent but also serves as a stepping stone as he transitions to collegiate basketball at East Stroudsburg University.

Adrian Brito’s selection to the Dominican Republic’s 19U team underscores his dedication, skill, and the bright future that lies ahead in his basketball career.
