Pitching Dominance Leads Pittston Area to Shutout Victory Over Wilkes-Barre Area

The Pittston Area Patriots continued their winning ways with a dominant 5-0 victory over the Wilkes-Barre Area Wolfpack on Monday. Fueled by outstanding pitching and timely hitting, the Patriots maintained their momentum in what has been an impressive season.
Pitching Prowess Sets the Tone
Senior pitcher TJ Johnson delivered a masterful performance on the mound, throwing 6 innings of scoreless baseball. Johnson allowed just 3 hits while striking out 4 and walking 2, keeping the Wolfpack’s lineup off-balance throughout the game.
Reliever Logan Laskowski took over in the seventh inning, closing out the game with a flawless frame, striking out one to secure the shutout and the win. The pitching duo’s combined effort proved too much for the Wilkes-Barre hitters, who struggled to generate any offensive momentum.
Offensive Support
The Patriots’ offense didn’t need much, but they made the most of their opportunities. Dominic Innamorati played a pivotal role, reaching base three times and scoring 2 runs. Elijah Barr also crossed the plate twice, capitalizing on smart baserunning and defensive miscues from Wilkes-Barre. Jake Aftewicz drove in the game’s lone RBI with a well-placed hit, while Nicholas Innamorati added a hit to the team’s total.

Bottger struck out 10 in 4 2/3 innings but allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 2 hits and 4 walks. Reliever Alex Hufford contributed 2 1/3 innings of one-hit relief, but the damage had already been done.
