Evan Pedri went a perfect 3-for-3 and drove in two runs as MMI Preparatory School rolled past Forest City 12-2 on Friday at Drifton Babe Ruth Field. The Preppers put together a relentless offensive surge, scoring 10 unanswered runs between the fifth and sixth innings to seal the mercy-rule win.

Forest City jumped ahead early after a first-inning RBI single from T.J. Collins. But that lead quickly vanished in the bottom of the second when an error and a Pedri single knotted the score at 2-2. Pedri’s bat stayed hot all game, with singles in the second, fifth, and sixth innings.

The turning point came in the bottom of the fifth when MMI erupted for five runs on five hits. Josh Witner ripped a two-run double to right-center, helping push the Preppers ahead 7-2. Witner finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk. He also earned the win on the mound, tossing a complete six-inning game, striking out nine, walking just one, and scattering four hits.

The sixth inning brought more damage. MMI tacked on five more runs with RBIs from Bryce Radzwich and Tommy Horvat, each driving in two with clutch base hits. Horvat reached base three times and finished 1-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs. Radzwich went 1-for-1 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

The Preppers’ lineup was balanced and disciplined, drawing seven walks in total. Caleb Skuba, Nick Pantages, and Luke Pesotine each crossed the plate twice, while Witner, Frask, and Horvat each added to the offensive tally.

Forest City was limited to four hits — one each from Jeremy Slick, Max Urbas, Collins, and Evan Oneill. Slick and Oneill both doubled, and Collins led with two RBIs on his lone hit.

On the mound, Forest City used four pitchers. Urbas went 1.2 innings allowing two unearned runs with four strikeouts. Slick followed with 2.2 innings and gave up four runs. Collins and Woodbridge were unable to stop the bleeding in the sixth, surrendering six runs combined.

Final Score:

Forest City – 2

MMI Prep – 12 (6 innings)
