Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School has officially named George Pachucy as the new head coach of its Blue Knights football program.
A 2015 graduate of Susquehanna University and proud alumnus of Scranton Prep, Pachucy arrives at Wyoming Seminary after five impactful years at Mid Valley High School (PA-3A-D2), where he served as Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks Coach, and Assistant Throws Coach. His influence helped lead Mid Valley to a historic run, including the school’s first Division Championship in program history.
In a farewell message shared via social media, Pachucy reflected on how coaching at Mid Valley changed the trajectory of his life, calling it “one of the best things that has ever happened to me.” He expressed deep gratitude to the players, coaches, and community, stating:
“I hope my impact on you was a fraction of what your impact was on me.”
Pachucy’s passion for the game is matched only by his commitment to his players’ growth both on and off the field — a trait shaped in large part by his own upbringing. His father, George Pachucy Sr., has been a mainstay in the local football scene, coaching for over four decades including 20+ years at Lackawanna College. In 2023, the elder Pachucy was honored as “Man of the Year” by the Scranton Lions Club at the annual Dream Game, a reflection of the family’s influence on football throughout Northeast PA.
George Pachucy now takes over for former head coach Kevin Burke and inherits a Blue Knights program rich with tradition and potential. His arrival signals a new chapter — one built on gratitude, discipline, and a clear vision for the future.
With a deep understanding of what football means to a community, Pachucy’s leadership is expected to usher in a renewed sense of pride and purpose at Wyoming Seminary in the seasons to come.
