SCRANTON — Fireworks flew early and often at Magis Field as 32 Lackawanna League seniors left it all on the dirt in the 2025 Field of Dreams Game — and it felt anything but friendly.

Team White came out swinging and never let off the gas, surging to an 8-6 win over Team Purple in a high-octane, back-and-forth battle that featured bombs, clutch hits, nasty strikeouts, and one unforgettable final chapter to these seniors' high school softball journeys.

The fourth inning was the turning point. Team White exploded for five runs behind a barrage of hits, hustle, and a couple of timely miscues by Purple. Mid Valley’s Mackenzie Adolfson and Abington Heights’ Cecilia O’Malley set the tone with back-to-back knocks, and from there it was pure chaos — in the best way.

Team Purple wasn’t going out quietly. Valley View’s Kalli Karwowski launched a no-doubter to center to spark the comeback, and the sixth inning turned wild. Triple. RBI double. Base hits flying. The lead shrunk to just two runs as Purple stormed back behind big swings from Clara Babyak, Alyssa Lynch, and Lawrence.

But Team White locked in when it mattered. Lauren Stalica dialed up her seventh strikeout with the tying run on deck to seal the win — and one final memory these seniors won’t forget.

From state champs to scrappy seniors, District 2’s finest brought the heat one last time. This wasn’t about trophies or titles — it was about heart, hustle, and one final roar before the lights went out on an unforgettable chapter.
