Hellertown, PA — September 13, 2025 — Under the glow of the Friday night lights and a crisp September breeze hinting at fall, the Saucon Valley Panthers hosted powerhouse Notre Dame Green Pond in a highly anticipated matchup. But what began as a promising night on home turf for the Panthers quickly turned into a statement win for the Crusaders, who rolled to a commanding 55-13 victory.
Notre Dame Green Pond, currently ranked 83rd in the state, came out firing on all cylinders and never let off the gas. With last night’s win, the Crusaders improve to 4-0 on the season, maintaining their perfect start and extending their road win streak to seven, a run that dates back to last year.
Junior standout Jonathan Striba led the way for Notre Dame, finding the end zone with the opening TD. Aaron Gordon, another JR standout had four TDs, one being a pick 6 on defense, showcasing the explosive firepower that has come to define this dominant program. With 17 consecutive state playoff wins and 10 state championships in the last 11 seasons, the Crusaders are a certified Pennsylvania high school football dynasty — and they showed exactly why.
On the other side, the Panthers dropped their third straight game, falling to 1-3 on the year. Despite the lopsided score, quarterback Braden Rohn turned in a gritty performance, throwing for 169 yards and a touchdown, while also adding a rushing score. Rohn contributed on both sides of the ball, notching five tackles defensively. His brother, Taylor Rohn, hauled in two receptions for 62 yards, offering bright spots in an otherwise difficult outing for Saucon Valley.
The Crusaders set the tone early and controlled the game throughout, showcasing not only talent but also depth and discipline on both sides of the ball. Their balanced attack and aggressive defense left little room for the Panthers to gain momentum.
As the season heats up, Notre Dame Green Pond looks every bit the contender they've built their reputation to be, and last night’s win added another chapter to their storied run. Meanwhile, Saucon Valley will look to regroup and right the ship as they prepare for the heart of league play.
With a resume that keeps growing and a target on their backs, the Crusaders aren’t just chasing wins — they’re chasing greatness, and so far, no one has been able to stand in their way.
