Valley View took the early lead midway through the first quarter when Braden Loff connected on a 30-yard field goal from the left hash. North Pocono responded in the second quarter behind a six-yard touchdown run from Josiah Grey, then capitalized on a turnover when Cole West intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown to put the Trojans ahead 14–3 at halftime.
The second half started with a jolt as West fielded the opening kickoff and sprinted 86 yards for another score. Grey added a 10-yard touchdown run, and quarterback Chase Zimmerman capped the surge with a short two-yard plunge. Valley View answered late in the third quarter when Caleb Brown rolled right and found Colin Witkowski for a 13-yard touchdown, followed by Loff’s extra point. North Pocono closed out the win in the fourth quarter on a nine-yard touchdown run from Clavo Slater.
North Pocono’s defense was equally impactful. West added a second interception, while Josiah Grey, Joe Briskie, and Jayden Taylor combined for multiple tackles that helped contain Valley View’s rushing attack to just 87 yards. Briskie led the Trojans in tackles alongside Grey, while West’s two takeaways and 86-yard kick return provided major swings in field position.
For Valley View, Tyler Muchal led the Cougars with 13 carries for 60 yards on the ground, while Brown threw for 93 yards and the lone touchdown to Witkowski. Defensively, Muchal and Jeffery Wasilchak each recorded three tackles, and Gabe Davis, Ben Evans, and Witkowski all contributed stops in the secondary. Despite the final margin, Valley View’s defense forced several long-yardage situations in the first half before North Pocono’s special teams shifted momentum.
Youngblood was perfect on five extra points for the Trojans, and Derenick added the final conversion.
North Pocono improved its total to 48 rushes for 207 yards and four touchdowns, while Valley View totaled 180 yards of offense and one score. The Cougars will look to regroup quickly with another major challenge next week against Delaware Valley.
