Benton, PA — April 15, 2025
The Muncy Indians put on an offensive clinic Tuesday afternoon, rolling to a 15-6 victory over the Benton Tigers on the road. Backed by a 13-hit performance and a strong outing on the mound from Barlow, the Indians controlled the game from the first pitch.
Muncy’s bats came alive early and never let up, capitalizing on five Benton errors to keep the scoreboard busy. The Indians’ well-rounded effort featured contributions up and down the lineup, as they racked up 15 runs while limiting themselves to just two defensive errors.
The scoring opened up in the third inning, where Muncy plated four runs compared to Benton’s two. The Indians broke things wide open in the fourth, exploding for seven runs in the frame, while the Tigers answered with three of their own. Muncy added one more in the fifth, and after Benton’s final run crossed in the sixth, the Indians tacked on three more in the seventh to seal the win.
Adams had a standout game, collecting two hits, scoring three runs, and driving in three more. Baker continued his steady production with two hits and three runs scored, while Fish crossed the plate three times and had one hit. Snyder added to the barrage with two hits and two RBIs. Barlow helped his own cause with a hit, a run scored, and a team-high four RBIs.
On the mound, Barlow delivered a solid start, pitching 5.2 innings and striking out five. He navigated through six hits and six runs to earn the win, keeping Benton from gaining any serious momentum.
For the Tigers, B. Farwell provided a bright spot with one hit and two RBIs, while C. Schultz chipped in a hit and scored twice. Despite some timely hitting, Benton couldn't overcome their defensive struggles and the relentless Muncy offense.
With the win, the Indians continue to build momentum and confidence heading into the heart of their schedule.
