MOUNTING MOMENTUM: Dallas Explodes for 11-Run Inning in 14-1 Rout of Berwick

The Dallas Mountaineers left no doubt on Monday afternoon, erupting for 11 runs in the third inning to power past Berwick in a dominant 14-1 victory at home.
Dallas wasted no time establishing control, putting up three quick runs in the bottom of the first inning. But it was the third frame where the floodgates opened. The Mountaineers sent a wave of bats through the lineup, capitalizing on timely hits, aggressive base running, and Berwick miscues to plate 11 runs—turning the game into a runaway.
Junior Kaden Coyne continued his torrid start to the season, reaching base twice, scoring three runs, and driving in one. Senior Zach Williams went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while sophomore Connor Healey had a standout performance, notching two hits, two runs, and three RBIs.
Senior Dylan Geskey also drove in a pair, and sophomore Brady Youngblood added an RBI single as Dallas’ lineup delivered from top to bottom.
On the mound, junior Peyton VanValkenburg was efficient and effective. He allowed just one run on three hits over four innings of work, striking out three and walking none. Sophomore Dylan Chapman closed the door with a scoreless fifth.
Berwick opened the game with a run in the top of the first, as Kamdyn Mausteller scored after reaching on a single. But that would be the Bulldogs’ lone highlight of the day. Dallas pitchers silenced the Berwick bats the rest of the way, holding them to just four hits.
Berwick starter Jacob Lisnock was tagged for nine runs (six earned) in 2.2 innings. Reliever Marcus Temple surrendered five more in a third of an inning as the Bulldogs fell to their eighth loss of the season.
Dallas now sits at 3-3 overall, showing flashes of their offensive potential and depth as they continue their push through the spring season.
