Dallas, PA – April 21, 2025

The Dallas Mountaineers continued their strong second-half surge with a 4-1 win over Nanticoke Area on Monday, leaning on dominant pitching performances and timely offense to seal the deal at home.

Seniors Aaron Patton and Nick Bednar combined for a masterclass on the mound, striking out 12 Trojans while allowing just three hits and one earned run across seven innings. Patton, who got the start, was nearly untouchable, throwing four innings of one-hit ball and striking out seven. Bednar came in for the save, holding Nanticoke to two hits and fanning five over the final three frames.

Offensively, the Mountaineers struck early and stayed consistent. Jude Nocito delivered a clutch RBI single to get Dallas on the board in the third, followed by a two-run home run from standout senior Kaden Coyne in the fifth to stretch the lead. Coyne, now hitting a blistering .579 on the year, continues to be a catalyst in the heart of the Dallas lineup.

Brady Youngblood chipped in with a pair of hits and an RBI, while Connor Healey and Jack Dale each added singles and crossed the plate.

Nanticoke Area managed to break the shutout in the top of the seventh with a sacrifice fly from Derek Shemanski, but it was too little, too late.

Dallas improved to 5-4 on the season and continues to trend upward as they head into the final stretch. With rising stars like Coyne and Zangardi and a deep senior group, the Mountaineers are shaping up to be a team to watch come postseason time.
