March 14, 2025 – Mountain View is heading to the PIAA 2A Final Four after a dominant defensive performance led to a 32-14 victory over Williams Valley in the quarterfinals. The Eagles controlled the game on both ends of the floor, using a stifling defense to hold their opponent to just five total field goals and a scoreless third quarter.

Offensively, Addison Kilmer led the way with 16 points, including three three-pointers. Ryleigh Kilmer added 10 points with two shots from beyond the arc. Emily Trichilo (4 points) and Aubrey Sanders (2 points) also contributed in the win.

Williams Valley struggled to generate any offense, scoring just two points in the second quarter and getting shut out entirely in the third. Quin Smeltz led the team with 9 points, while Deland Bizler (3 points) and Sage Smeltz (2 points) were the only other scorers.

Defensive Dominance

Mountain View set the tone early, holding Williams Valley to just 5 first-quarter points and only 7 total in the second half. Their ability to limit second-chance opportunities and force difficult shots proved to be the difference.

Williams Valley’s offensive woes were evident at the free-throw line, where they attempted just three shots, making only one. Meanwhile, Mountain View capitalized on their chances, converting 5-of-6 free throws.

Looking Ahead

With the win, Mountain View advances to the PIAA 2A Final Four, where they will face the winner of Marian Catholic vs. Berlin-Brothersvalley. The Eagles will look to carry their defensive intensity into the next round as they continue their push for a state championship.
