Bethlehem, Pa. – Lehigh flexed its muscle on both sides of the ball Saturday, pounding out 286 rushing yards and smothering Sacred Heart defensively in a 28-10 win at Goodman Stadium. The victory pushes the Mountain Hawks to 2-0 for the first time since 2018.

After surrendering a 91-yard kickoff return touchdown on the game’s opening play, Lehigh took control and never looked back. Junior Luke Yoder rushed for 127 yards and a score, sophomore Jaden Green added 79 yards and a touchdown, and quarterbacks Hayden Johnson (Manheim) and Matt Machalik both found the end zone on the ground.

The defense made sure Sacred Heart never gained momentum, holding the Pioneers without an offensive touchdown and just 177 yards of total offense. Senior linebacker Brycen Edwards led the effort with nine tackles, while Will Parton and Tyler Ochojski added impact plays across the front.

Local talent continued to shine for Lehigh, as Aaron Crossley (Wyoming Area) carried five times for 18 yards and Connor Hilling (Valley View) added a carry as part of the Mountain Hawks’ deep rotation of backs.

Lehigh now turns its attention to the road, traveling to Pittsburgh next Saturday for its first-ever matchup with Duquesne. Kickoff is set for noon at Rooney Field.
