Montrose Edges Blue Ridge in Coaches vs Cancer Event, Community Rallies for Cody Vincent

Montrose’s Jack Russell led all scorers with 21 points, while teammate Lucas Cokely added 16. Jai Herman and Hudson Aukema contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively, helping the Meteors (12-7, 8-3) secure the win in this Lackawanna League Division III contest.
Blue Ridge was paced by Brendan Marvin, who posted 16 points. Gehrig Dibble and William Hobart each added 12, keeping the Raiders (7-11, 4-7) competitive throughout the night.
While Montrose controlled much of the game, Blue Ridge battled back in the second half, closing the gap with a strong fourth-quarter push. Despite their efforts, the Meteors held on for the win.
At halftime, the gym fell silent as a message from Vincent’s family was read by Shane Decker, expressing their gratitude for the community’s support. With over 20 donated baskets for the raffle and a strong turnout, the evening demonstrated how sports can unite a community for a greater cause.
