Mid Valley punched its ticket deeper into the Section 5, 8-9-10 Minors Softball Tournament with a 7-3 win over Back Mountain on Monday night behind dominant pitching and timely hitting.
Grace Eboli once again delivered on the mound for Mid Valley, striking out 10 in four innings of work. She allowed just three hits and one earned run while issuing six walks. Nora Piercy came on in relief and closed the door with two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four.
Piercy not only helped in the circle but also led the offense, going 3-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored. She set the tone with singles in the first, third, and fifth innings. Mid Valley erupted for five runs in the third inning thanks to key RBI singles from Piercy, Adaline Owens (1-for-2, 1 RBI), and Nina DeSantis (2-for-2, 3 RBIs), blowing the game open and giving the home team a 6-2 lead.
Annabelle Mackey also contributed at the plate with a hit, RBI, and run scored, while Grace C added a single and scored once. Emma F, though hitless, drew two walks and scored once to help extend Mid Valley’s offense.
Defensively, Mid Valley was flawless. The infield was anchored by shortstop Brooke P, who handled eight chances cleanly.
Back Mountain opened strong with two runs in the top of the first. Avery Mullery (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) drove in both runs, one on a single to right and the other on a passed ball. Giuliana Zupp also had a solid day at the plate, finishing 2-for-2.

Both teams played clean defensive games with zero errors committed.
