McLean’s Monster Night Propels Valley View Past Mid Valley in District 2 4A Quarterfinals

Archbald, PA -- Valley View’s Beyon McLean delivered a career-best performance, scoring 31 points and grabbing 15 rebounds to lead the Cougars to a dominant 57-33 victory over Mid Valley in the District 2 Class 4A quarterfinals. McLean’s offensive explosion, which included 14 field goals, set the tone for a Valley View squad that controlled the game from start to finish.
Tyler Scoblick chipped in with eight points, while Nick Kucharski and Noah Veno each added four for Valley View.
Mid Valley struggled offensively, with Demaja Dunston leading the way with 12 points. Landon Pratt and Kaleik Cook each added six and eight points, respectively, but the Spartans couldn’t generate enough momentum to keep pace.
Valley View made just one three-pointer in the contest, but their 25 total field goals and defensive pressure proved to be the difference. Mid Valley, meanwhile, failed to connect from beyond the arc (0-for-1), limiting their offensive production.
With this win, the Cougars will travel to No. 2 Dallas, a 50-35 winner over No. 7 Tunkhannock, on Friday at 7 p.m. in the District 2 Class 4A semifinals.
