Marabito’s Clutch Shooting and Local Star Laybourn-Boddie Propel Falcons to Comeback Victory Over Essex

SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College rallied late to earn a thrilling 76-72 win over Essex County College on January 14, 2025, at the historic Student Union Gymnasium.

Sophomore Nick Marabito led the way with 17 points, including three crucial three-pointers, and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds.

Local standout Evan Laybourn-Boddie, a Wilkes-Barre Area Wolfpack alumnus, added 14 points in the victory, showcasing his resilience in key moments.

Jireej Cole contributed a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, sealing the game at the free throw line.

The Falcons overcame an eight-point second-half deficit with a decisive 13-0 run, solidifying their place in the Region XIX Division II standings with a victory Tuesday night.
