CLARKS SUMMIT, PA – When the lights were the brightest, Maggie Coleman delivered a performance for the ages. The Abington Heights senior put on a shooting clinic, pouring in 40 points and sinking an unbelievable 12 three-pointers to lead the Comets to a convincing 63-30 playoff victory over North Pocono on Wednesday night.
In the process, Coleman shattered multiple school records, surpassing her own single-game three-point record (9) and overtaking former WNBA player Amber Jacobs as Abington Heights’ all-time leader in three-pointers made.
From the opening tip, it was clear that Coleman was on a mission. She torched the North Pocono defense early, drilling three consecutive threes in the first quarter as Abington Heights set the tone. By halftime, she had already buried eight triples, leaving the crowd buzzing on whats to come in the second half.
North Pocono threw multiple defenders her way, but it didn’t matter. Whether coming off screens, pulling up in transition, or finding space in the corner, Coleman was automatic. Every shot felt inevitable, and when her 12th three-pointer splashed through the net in the fourth quarter, the gym erupted in celebration.
With her performance, Coleman now holds:
• Single-game three-pointers: 12 (previous record: 9)
• Most career three-pointers in Abington Heights history
• Most three-pointers in a playoff game in school history
• Surpassed former WNBA player Amber Jacobs as the program’s all-time leader
Total Team Effort
While Coleman was the undisputed star of the night, Emma Coleman provided valuable support with 12 points, and Sarah Cantner added 8 points inside. Madeleine Walsh and Lily Scoblick chipped in to help round out the scoring.
On the defensive end, Abington Heights smothered North Pocono, holding them to just 30 total points and only one made three-pointer as a team. Anna Clementoni led the Trojans with 9 points, but North Pocono struggled to find any rhythm.
