Allentown, PA — The Loyalsock Township Lancers are heading to the PIAA Class 3A state championship game after an impressive 65-46 semifinal win over defending state champion Imhotep Charter.
Loyalsock took control of the game with a 10-0 run in the second quarter, building a nine-point lead at halftime. The Lancers continued to push in the third quarter, extending the advantage to 14 points after three quarters of play.
The Lancers’ defense and rebounding proved key, as they limited Imhotep’s chances and capitalized on their own opportunities. Loyalsock’s players executed their game plan, neutralizing the Panthers’ athleticism and forcing difficult shots throughout the night.
The win marked redemption for a Loyalsock team that lost in this same semifinal game last season. With that memory still fresh, the Lancers delivered a focused, determined effort from start to finish.
Loyalsock will now face Shady Side Academy on Thursday at 6 p.m. for the PIAA Class 3A state championship.
