Tommy Fiorelli Achieves Podium Finish at Adidas Indoor Nationals
Senior thrower Tommy Fiorelli delivered a remarkable performance at the Adidas Indoor Nationals, securing a 2nd place finish in the shot put event. Competing against elite high school athletes from across the nation, Fiorelli’s dedication and hard work culminated in this outstanding achievement. Maranda Runco Powers Villanova Softball to Victory
Mid-Valley High School alumna and current Villanova University sophomore, Maranda Runco, played a pivotal role in the Wildcats’ 12-3 victory over Georgetown University. Demonstrating her versatility, Runco contributed both offensively and defensively. At the plate, she went 1-for-3, scoring two runs and hitting a solo home run. In the pitcher’s circle, she closed the game, pitching the final inning and securing the win for Villanova. Runco’s all-around performance underscores her significant contribution to the team’s success.
Ally Stafursky Named Colonel of the Week
Add Wilkes University’s Ally Stafursky to the list of local stars. The standout went 6-for-14 at the plate this week, highlighted by her first collegiate home run, and helped lead the Colonels to a 3-1 record, including a Landmark Conference sweep of Drew. Her efforts earned her this week’s Colonel of the Week honors.
Colin Manley Starts Outdoor Season Strong for East Stroudsburg University
Former West Scranton High School hurdler, Colin Manley, began his outdoor track season with a commendable performance for East Stroudsburg University (ESU). Competing in the hurdles event, Manley finished 2nd in his heat and 10th overall, showcasing his readiness for the season ahead. Additionally, the meet provided an opportunity for Manley to reconnect with former competitor Nate Oliphant, a Riverside High School alumnus now competing for Lehigh University, highlighting the enduring camaraderie among local athletes.
