Liberty Edges Williamsport in 13-12 Thriller on Saturday Afternoon

In a back-and-forth offensive showcase on Saturday afternoon, Liberty outlasted Williamsport in a nail-biter, 13-12. Despite a strong start from the Millionaires, the Hurricanes rallied late to pull off the one-run victory in a high-scoring affair.
Williamsport wasted no time getting on the board, erupting for five runs in the first inning. They kept the momentum going with six more in the third and added another in the fifth. Liberty, however, kept pace with three runs in the opening frame, followed by four in the third, and turned up the heat in the later innings—scoring two runs apiece in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to seal the comeback.
The Hurricanes outhit the Millionaires 14 to 10, and while individual stats were not reported for Liberty, their consistent offense proved to be the difference.
For Williamsport, Christian Franzen led the way at the plate, collecting two hits and driving in three runs. Deshaun White also had two hits, scored twice, and added an RBI. Other Millionaire hitters contributing with one hit apiece included J. March, Vilello, C. March, Schur, Bair, and Deitrick. Gio White and Camden March each chipped in with two RBIs.
Despite a strong offensive output, the Millionaires couldn’t hold off Liberty's steady pressure in the later innings, ultimately falling just short in the slugfest.
Williamsport will look to bounce back in their next matchup, while Liberty rides the momentum of a hard-fought win into their upcoming games.
