Kingston, PA -- Delaware Valley used a dominant second half to pull away from Wyoming Seminary, securing a commanding 20-6 victory in boys lacrosse action on Thursday. The win lifts the Warriors to 9-1 on the season, while the Blue Knights fall to an even 4-4.
After a tightly contested first quarter ended in a 3-3 tie, the Warriors began to separate themselves in the second, outscoring Seminary 6-3 to take a 9-6 lead into halftime. From there, Delaware Valley completely took control, shutting out the Blue Knights over the final two quarters while piling on 11 unanswered goals.
Peyton LaRocco led the offensive charge with a standout eight-point performance, tallying three goals and five assists. The senior also achieved a major career milestone, recording his 400th career point during the game. He was supported by Noah Rabolli, who added four goals and two assists, and Michael Iuzzolino, who also netted four goals and dished out one assist.
Delaware Valley’s scoring depth was on full display, with contributions from multiple players including Colin McGarvey (2 goals), Jaxon Barbalich (2 goals), and Tyler Husejnovic (1 goal, 1 assist). In total, 10 different Warriors found the back of the net. Bryson Mackey not only scored a goal and an assist but also dominated at the faceoff X, winning 22 of 25 draws.
On the defensive end, Riley Smith made three saves to help preserve the shutout stretch over the final 24 minutes.
Wyoming Seminary was led by Matt Swartz with three goals and one assist. Daniel Fisher added a pair of goals, and Will Sordoni chipped in with one. Brandon Betnar recorded an assist. Goalie David Ourmazdi turned away seven shots in net for the Blue Knights.
Delaware Valley returns to action looking to continue its strong season, while Wyoming Seminary aims to regroup heading into the second half of its schedule.
