PINE GROVE, PA — The North Pocono Lady Trojans left it all on the field Thursday afternoon at Susan Y. Stump Field, but their spirited postseason ride came to a close in a 3-0 loss to District 3 champion Greencastle-Antrim in the PIAA Class 5A Quarterfinals.

Both teams leaned on their pitching and defense in a tightly contested matchup. Areilla Bell battled through six strong innings for the Lady Trojans, scattering eight hits while striking out three and walking just one. Her effort kept North Pocono within striking distance until the final out.

The difference came down to timely swings from the Blue Devils. Meadow Gambacurta broke a scoreless tie in the third with a sacrifice fly, then added a solo home run in the fifth to extend the lead. Bailey Leckron followed with another solo shot in the sixth to round out the scoring for Greencastle-Antrim.

Despite the result, the Lady Trojans showed resilience throughout the game. Amelia Bell led the way at the plate with a pair of hits out of the leadoff spot, while North Pocono’s defense turned in a composed effort behind their ace.

It was the end of a postseason run built on energy, unity, and grit. The Lady Trojans made their mark with key playoff wins and big-time performances throughout Districts and into the state bracket — earning a rightful place among Pennsylvania’s 5A elite.
