In a competitive dual meet on the track and in the field, the Northwest Area girls track and field team came up short against a strong Lake-Lehman squad. Despite several standout individual performances, the Lady Rangers were defeated with a final score of 88-62.
Sprints & Hurdles
100m Dash: Lake-Lehman swept the event, led by Lenza (13.6), with Blazes (13.7) and Rittenhouse (13.9) rounding out the top three.
200m Dash: Lehman’s Pfeiffer (29.1) edged out Davenport (29.2) of Northwest, while Blazes (LL) took third.
400m Dash: Jones (LL) took first in 63.9 seconds. Northwest’s Mullins and Davis claimed second and third respectively.
100m Hurdles: Northwest shined here, with Hasinus dominating at 16.5, followed by Lachenmayer (18.3). Martin (LL) took third.
300m Hurdles: Hasinus continued her strong showing, winning in 49.9 seconds. Lachenmayer placed second and Martin of Lehman was third.
800m Run: Lake-Lehman swept all three spots, with Purdy leading at 2:41.
1600m Run: Palmalioli (LL) led from start to finish in 5:46, followed by Corcoran (LL). Williams (NW) grabbed third.
3200m Run: Palmalioli completed her distance triple with another win in 12:29. Cronauer (NW) and Hassett (LL) followed.
3200m Relay: Lake-Lehman’s team of Palmalioli and Jones posted a winning time of 11:29 over Northwest’s 12:05.
400m Relay: Lake-Lehman took this event after Northwest was disqualified.
1600m Relay: Lehman’s squad again took the top spot in 4:35, while Northwest came in at 4:58.
Shot Put: Northwest’s Crawford (27'10.5") edged Lehman’s S. Dougherty (27'9.75") by the slimmest of margins.
Discus: K. Dougherty of Lehman threw 80'10" for the win, followed by teammate S. Dougherty. Valdez (NW) placed third.
Javelin: Biscotto (LL) launched a winning throw of 91'2", while Northwest’s Klem and Valdez secured second and third.
Long Jump: Lenza (LL) won with a leap of 15'5.75", narrowly defeating Hasinus (NW). Bowman (NW) took third.
Triple Jump: Northwest swept this event behind Hasinus (33'3"), Davenport (31'2.75"), and Bowman (30'3.75").
High Jump: Bowman (NW) cleared 5'2" for first place, followed by Morgan (LL) and Hasinus (NW).
Pole Vault: Daniels (NW) won with a vault of 8', while Braunsteir (LL) and Mullins (NW) followed.

While Lake-Lehman earned the win with strong performances in distance, sprints, and relays, Northwest Area had notable efforts in field events and hurdles. Athletes like Hasinus, Bowman, and Daniels were key contributors for the Lady Rangers in a hard-fought meet.
