Kira Pomrinke, a proud Dallas High School graduate and current junior at Stonehill College, is a star both on and off the soccer field. A Division I athlete majoring in Political Science, Kira has balanced her rigorous academic and athletic commitments. She has earned a 3.97 GPA and a regular spot on the Dean’s List.
During her high school career, Kira played a key role in leading Dallas to two District Championships and three Conference Championships, capping off her senior season with All-State honors. But her journey wasn’t all success, KIra overcame many barriers to become the player she is today.
Coming from a smaller, often overlooked region, Kira faced the challenge of breaking into the Division I scene. She also worked through a minor MCL injury last summer, a setback that tested her resilience and determination. But Kira never wavered, crediting her strength and growth to the tight-knit bond with her teammates and the powerful team atmosphere that helped shape her competitive mindset.
One of the biggest influences in Kira’s journey has been Matt Flanagan, who has worked with her since eighth grade. His guidance, support, and shared work ethic have played a pivotal role in helping Kira elevate her game both mentally and physically. She speaks highly of their relationship and attributes much of her development to the foundation they built together.
Off the field, Kira is already taking steps toward her next goal which is law school. She is currently interning at the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, gaining firsthand experience in the legal field, and plans to pursue a career in criminal justice.
Driven, disciplined, and determined to make an impact, Kira Pomrinke continues to defy expectations, proving that where you come from doesn’t define where you’re going.
