Kingston/Forty Fort Blanks Greater Pittston Township to Advance to Section 5 Majors Final

JENKINS TOWNSHIP — With a trip to the Section 5 Majors championship on the line, Kingston/Forty Fort left no doubt.
KFF exploded for early offense and got a dominant pitching performance from Nick Lipinski, rolling past Greater Pittston Township 12-0 on Tuesday to advance to the final round, where they’ll face Abington.
KFF got to work quickly in the top of the first, scoring three runs on a walk to Richard McCabe, a groundout from Yonah Ringler, and a sharp RBI single by Seth Ahart up the middle.
In the second, Mike Varzaly dropped a textbook sacrifice bunt to score a run, Ma’Kye Kushnir drew a bases-loaded walk, and TJ Needle drilled an RBI double to extend the lead to 6-0.
The big blow came in the fourth, where KFF erupted for six more runs on five hits. Dayne Wadas ripped a two-run double, Lipinski and McCabe added RBIs, and Kushnir brought in another run after being hit by a pitch.
Lipinski was lights-out on the mound, throwing a complete-game shutout over four innings. He allowed just two hits—one each to Mason Slusser and Armando Oliveri—and struck out six without issuing a walk.
McCabe led the offense with three RBIs, while Russell Singer, Needle, Ahart, Wadas, Brentley Nicholls, and Lipinski all contributed with hits. Nicholls added two stolen bases and KFF’s defense stayed clean throughout, committing zero errors behind their ace.
Despite the loss, GPT showed heart at the plate with Slusser and Oliveri collecting back-to-back hits in the early going, though KFF’s steady defense and deep pitching staff kept the scoreboard quiet from there.
With the win, Kingston/Forty Fort advances to the Section 5 championship to take on unbeaten Abington, needing two wins to claim the title.
