The Lady Invaders score nine in the first, ride hot bats and solid pitching to 18-3 victory!
SCRANTON, PA – West Scranton wasted no time making noise Wednesday afternoon, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to a dominant 18-3 win over cross-town rival Scranton Prep in four innings.
Mia Keenan led the offensive explosion, going 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs, including a solo home run to left in the third. The senior standout came through in every spot — with run-scoring singles in the first and fourth and a clutch two-run knock in the fourth inning.
Joining the fireworks was Sophia Deluca, who crushed a grand slam in the bottom of the first to break the game wide open. Deluca finished with 5 RBIs, adding another run-scoring single in the third.
Kaleiah Connor picked up the win in the circle, allowing just three runs on two hits over three innings, while striking out three. West Scranton played clean defensively and backed their starter with 16 hits and zero errors.
The Lady Invaders added to their early lead with a run in the second and three more in the third, before sealing the deal with a five-run fourth — highlighted by Brianna Connor’s three-run homer to center field.
