Jewlya McCullon Reaches 1,000 Career Points, Leads Old Forge to Victory

Jewlya McCullon @jewlyamccullon_, a senior guard for Old Forge High School, hit a significant milestone last night by scoring her 1,000th career point. The achievement came during Old Forge’s 53-40 victory over Holy Cross in a Division II matchup.

McCullon was in top form, contributing a game-high 24 points, including four three-pointers. Her milestone point was met with an outpouring of celebration from her teammates, coaches, and fans, marking a career defined by hard work and consistent excellence on the court.

The Lady Devils improved to 7-2, 1-0 in league play, with the win, bolstered by contributions from teammates Ava Arnold and Aryanna Harris, who each added 12 points. Old Forge dominated the game early, outscoring Holy Cross 20-6 in the first quarter and maintaining control throughout.

Holy Cross, 4-6, 0-2, made efforts to close the gap in the third quarter, led by Ava Schmidt’s 16 points and Mollie Urban’s 10. However, Old Forge’s defensive prowess and McCullon’s offensive leadership ensured the victory.

McCullon’s accomplishment adds another highlight to an already stellar season for the senior. She has amassed 218 points this season, with an impressive 29 three-pointers, showcasing her scoring versatility.

With league play heating up, McCullon and the Lady Devils are poised for a strong second half of the season, aiming to build on this memorable night and continue their push for postseason success.
