Wyoming Area High School | Junior
Jack Gravine is a rising force at Wyoming Area High School, excelling in both football and track and field as a dedicated, high-performing student-athlete with a fierce competitive edge and strong personal values.
As a sophomore, Jack earned a starting role at wide receiver, but he has even bigger goals for his junior season as he’s working toward becoming the team’s starting quarterback and helping lead Wyoming Area to a district championship.
In track and field, Jack specializes in the javelin, where he’s made consistent strides. He placed 6th at districts as a freshman and overcame significant adversity during his sophomore season. Despite dislocating his middle finger in just the third meet of the season, he continued to compete, pushing through the pain. Though the injury prevented him from placing at districts, he bounced back to win 1st place at the Wyoming Valley Conference meet.
Off the field, Jack maintains a 3.9 GPA and is a proud member of the National Honor Society. He is also a firm believer in faith and family. Jack lives by the quote: “Put God first.”
He draws daily inspiration and motivation from his father, who continually pushes him to improve and supports his athletic and academic journey.
Looking ahead, Jack aims to fulfill his dream of competing in javelin at the Division I level. For this upcoming season, his goals are to qualify for the state tournament and set a new personal record surpassing 185 feet, 3 inches.
