POCONO SUMMIT, PA — In a game full of offensive fireworks and wild momentum swings, the West Scranton Invaders rallied with a massive late-inning surge to defeat Pocono Mountain West 13-10 on Thursday afternoon.

Trailing 10-4 after six innings, West Scranton exploded for nine unanswered runs in the final frame, flipping the script and stealing a thrilling road win in non-league action.

Invaders’ Late Rally Sparks Victory

After scratching across runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings, West Scranton entered the 7th trailing 10-4. But the bats came alive just in time. Led by Jason Selemba and Thomas Selemba, the Invaders posted a five-run sixth and a four-run seventh to complete the comeback.

Jason Selemba was electric at the plate, going 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored, while Thomas Selemba added a clutch 3-RBI single as the designated hitter.

Caiden Berardi led the charge with a team-high 3 hits, scoring 2 runs and driving in 1. Cameron Cole crossed the plate 3 times and chipped in an RBI.

Pitching Duo Closes It Out

On the mound, Tyler Scotch struck out 7 in 5.1 innings despite a rough sixth inning, while Mike D’Augostine came on in relief and helped stop the bleeding in the bottom of the seventh to preserve the lead.

Pocono Mountain West Can’t Hold On

Pocono Mountain West appeared in control after an 8-run sixth inning, led by Jordan Hernandez (2 RBIs), Sean Brauning (2 RBIs), and Jayden Espinoza (3 runs scored). But defensive miscues and shaky bullpen work in the final frame proved costly.

Despite 10 runs and 8 hits, the Panthers couldn’t withstand the Invaders’ rally and were held scoreless in the 7th after a promising offensive day.

What’s Next?

With the win, West Scranton continues to build momentum in non-league play. The Invaders improve their overall record and look ahead to their next matchup as they work to tighten things up defensively while keeping the bats hot.

For Pocono Mountain West, the focus shifts to regaining consistency after an explosive yet frustrating offensive showing.
