Hunter Pitcavage, a rising junior at Dallas High School, is proving to be one of the most versatile and dedicated athletes in the region. A standout in football, wrestling, and track and field, Pitcavage has been grinding through a rigorous year-round training regimen that’s paying off—especially in the javelin.

After a breakout spring that included a district championship and an eighth-place finish at the PIAA State Championships, Pitcavage’s momentum has only continued to build. Most recently, he captured first place in the High School Emerging Elite division at the prestigious American JavFest held at East Stroudsburg South.

Facing a strong field of competitors, Pitcavage delivered a personal-best throw of 190 feet, 5 inches, marking a new high point in his javelin career and showcasing the steady progress he’s made since the end of the school year.

What makes Pitcavage’s rise even more impressive is his commitment across three demanding sports. In football, he’s known for his toughness and athleticism on the field. On the wrestling mat, he brings that same grit and intensity. But it’s on the runway, with the javelin in hand, where he’s truly starting to carve out a name for himself statewide and beyond.

As his technique sharpens and his confidence grows, the ceiling continues to rise. With two more seasons ahead of him, Pitcavage’s combination of strength, explosiveness, and drive makes him one of the most exciting athletes to watch in Pennsylvania track and field.

Stay tuned—this journey is far from over.
