Wilkes-Barre, PA – Dunmore ignited in the second quarter with a scorching 28-point performance that flipped the game on its head, leading the Bucks to a 59-52 victory over No. 4-ranked Holy Redeemer in the District 2 3A tournament.
Trailing by eight after the first quarter, Dunmore's offense found its rhythm behind Carter Sload’s game-high 21 points, fueled by an impressive five three-pointers. Brayden Canavan (18 points, two threes) and Jimmy Clark (11 points, three threes) provided additional perimeter firepower, as the Bucks collectively drained 11 shots from deep to outpace Holy Redeemer.
The Royals put up a fight behind Kyiare McLean and David Popson, who each tallied 13 points, but struggled to match Dunmore's perimeter barrage. Despite hitting eight threes, Holy Redeemer couldn't overcome the Bucks’ relentless offensive surge.
With the win, Dunmore advances to face top-seeded Riverside on February 22 in a highly anticipated District 2 3A semifinal matchup. The Bucks will look to carry their momentum into a showdown against the Vikings on their home court.
