Under the Friday night lights at Williamsport Area High School, senior wide receiver Gio White delivered a dominant performance, leading the Millionaires to a convincing 28-7 victory over visiting Hazleton. White ran wild for 218 yards on 17 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns, bringing his season total to six through just two games.

Williamsport wasted no time setting the tone. White broke free for a 74-yard touchdown run that ignited the home crowd. Kicker Brayden Ungard added the extra point to give the Millionaires a 7-0 lead.

Just minutes later, White struck again—this time slicing through the Cougars’ defense for a 16-yard score. Another successful PAT from Ungard extended the lead to 14-0.

Hazleton showed signs of life before halftime when Freddy Corrado powered in from one yard out, cutting the deficit to 14-7 at the break. But that would be all the Cougars could muster offensively, as Williamsport’s defense clamped down in the second half.

In the third quarter, White completed his touchdown trifecta with a 3-yard plunge, pushing the lead to 21-7 with 5:03 remaining in the period. The Millionaires capped off the scoring on a slick 22-yard screen pass from quarterback Tevin Williams to Ungard, sealing the 28-7 win.

The game marked a statement performance for White, who has quickly emerged as one of the region’s most explosive offensive threats. In just two games, the senior has racked up six touchdowns, showcasing a rare blend of speed, vision, and power.

As a team, Williamsport piled up 331 rushing yards, dominating the line of scrimmage throughout the night. Hazleton, by contrast, was limited to just 112 yards on the ground and struggled to find rhythm offensively after halftime.

With the win, Williamsport improves to 2-0 and will look to carry their momentum into next week’s matchup. Hazleton falls to 0-2 and faces the challenge of regrouping ahead of their next contest.

Key Stats:

  • Gio White (Williamsport): 17 carries, 218 yards, 3 TDs

  • Team Rushing: Williamsport 331 yards, Hazleton 112 yards

Williamsport looks poised for a big season—and with White leading the way, opponents will have their hands full trying to slow down the senior star.
