Gallela’s Walk-Off Double Lifts Crestwood to 7-6 Extra-Inning Victory Over Wyoming Seminary.

Crestwood battled back from early deficits of 3-0 and 6-3 before Chase Gallela’s walk-off double in the eighth inning sealed a thrilling 7-6 win over Wyoming Seminary on Thursday.

Gallela went 3-for-4, including the game-winning hit, and Jake Feisel delivered four scoreless innings of relief to earn the win on the mound as Crestwood improved to 2-2 on the season.

The visiting Blue Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Their first three batters reached and came around to score, highlighted by RBI singles from Antek Evan and Ryan Finley. Evan later scored on a passed ball to cap the inning.

Crestwood responded in the third after Gallela led off with a single and Jack Rodgers followed with a bunt single. After a passed ball advanced both runners, Dylan Domzalski delivered a two-run single to cut the lead to 3-2. Jaxon Fedak reached on an error, and following a pair of fielder’s choices, Josh Mylet doubled to left to bring home Fedak and tie the game at 3-3.

Wyoming Seminary regained control in the fourth, plating three more runs. Shaun Behrens led off with a single, and after a strikeout, Teddy Kraus and Finn Ruderman followed with back-to-back singles to load the bases. Colin Donovan singled home Behrens, but Crestwood cut down the second runner at the plate on a throw from Feisel to Mylet. After an intentional walk to load the bases, Evan drove in two more runs with a single to make it 6-3. A strikeout ended the threat.

Crestwood chipped away again in the bottom of the fourth. Gallela singled with one out and Rodgers followed with another hit. A passed ball moved both runners into scoring position before Fedak drove them in with a clutch two-out single, trimming the deficit to 6-5.

Feisel entered in relief and quickly settled in, allowing just one baserunner over the next two innings. In the bottom of the sixth, Rodgers reached on a two-out bloop single and stole second. Domzalski followed with a double to left-center to bring him home and tie the game at 6-6.

Both teams were held scoreless in the seventh, pushing the game into extra innings. Feisel continued his dominant outing with a clean eighth inning.

In the bottom half, Caleb McManus singled and stole second. After a strikeout, Gallela stepped to the plate and delivered the game-winning double to left, scoring McManus and securing the walk-off victory for Crestwood.

Crestwood improves to 2-2 and will travel to Pittston Area for their next matchup. Wyoming Seminary, also 2-2, is set to face Blue Ridge.
