Forgione's Bat Ignites Lady Trojans; North Pocono Routs Delaware Valley Behind 5-RBI Day

MOSCOW, PA — Behind a scorching day at the plate from Isabella Forgione and a dominant team-wide offensive effort, North Pocono stormed past Delaware Valley, 12-2, in five innings on Monday afternoon.
Forgione delivered a monster performance, going 3-for-3 with 5 RBIs, including two doubles and a sacrifice fly. Her bat set the tone early and helped slam the door late, driving in three runs in a decisive fifth-inning rally.
The Lady Trojans wasted no time getting on the board, with Forgione knocking in the game’s first run in the opening inning. In the second, Amelia Bell and Alyssa Lynch drove in runs with timely base hits, part of a three-hit day for both Lynch and Areilla Bell. Amelia Bell also got the job done in the circle, pitching five innings, allowing just four hits and no earned runs, while striking out five.
North Pocono piled up 14 hits, stole two bases, and played clean, confident softball from start to finish.
Delaware Valley showed early grit, with H. Olcott collecting two hits from the leadoff spot and A. McCardle driving in both Warrior runs. Despite the loss, the Warriors played error-free defense.
