CLARKS SUMMIT — Saturday afternoon at the Pit had all the makings of a classic: two storied programs, packed stands, both school bands trading tunes, and a storm delay that only heightened the anticipation. By the time the ball was kicked off at 3:30, Abington Heights and Dallas delivered the fireworks fans were waiting for, with the Comets ultimately pulling away for a 40-28 victory.
The back-and-forth action started early. Jayden Anglin opened the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown run, and moments later Thomas Reese returned an interception for another Comets’ score. Dallas answered quickly, as Logan Geskey broke free for a 35-yard run and then hauled in an 11-yard touchdown pass from Talan Geskey to put the Mountaineers ahead 14-13 after the first quarter.
The second quarter was pure chaos. Nick Bradley found Rodman Azar for a 13-yard touchdown before Anglin struck again, this time with a 31-yard pick-six. Dallas responded immediately with Tyce Mason taking a kickoff 95 yards to the house. But Abington closed the half with Bradley threading an 8-yard strike to Noah Kayal as the Comets carried a 33-21 lead into the break.
Dallas wasn’t done swinging. Early in the third, Logan Geskey electrified the crowd with a 70-yard touchdown reception from Talan Geskey to pull the Mountaineers within five. But Abington’s defense tightened, and Bradley added a late insurance score with a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to seal it.
Anglin powered the Comets’ ground game with 170 rushing yards, while Bradley was the difference-maker with 217 passing yards, 50 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns. Gavin Anders (89 yards), Cayd Sesipco (45 yards), and Noah Kayal (41 yards, TD) were among his top targets. On the other side, Logan Geskey was sensational for Dallas, racking up 237 yards and three scores (two receiving, one rushing).
The win keeps Abington Heights rolling at 3-0 as the Comets now prepare for a massive home matchup against Valley View in Week 4. Dallas, still searching for its first victory at 0-3, will look to rebound on the road at Wilkes-Barre, a team fresh off knocking off the top-seeded Cougars.
