Elk Lake Pulls Away Late to Defeat Northeast Bradford, 57–42
Elk Lake used a strong second quarter and balanced scoring effort to earn a 57–42 win over Northeast Bradford on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in boys’ basketball action during the 2025–2026 season.
The game was competitive early, with Elk Lake holding a slim 13–12 advantage after the first quarter. The momentum shifted in the second quarter as Elk Lake outscored Northeast Bradford 22–13, building a double-digit lead heading into halftime. Northeast Bradford struggled to slow Elk Lake’s perimeter shooting, as the hosts knocked down several key three-pointers.
Elk Lake maintained control in the second half, matching Northeast Bradford with 13 points in the third quarter and closing the game with a 9–8 edge in the fourth to seal the 15-point victory.
Chase Pond led all scorers with 19 points for Elk Lake, including three three-pointers. John Heitsman and Brayden Miller each added 13 points, with Miller also connecting on three shots from beyond the arc. Elk Lake finished with strong contributions across the lineup, showcasing depth and offensive balance.
For Northeast Bradford, Dayton Russell paced the offense with 16 points, while Clay Wilkes added 14 points, including the team’s only free throws of the night. Eli Stanton chipped in eight points as Northeast Bradford looked to keep pace through much of the first half.
Despite solid individual efforts, Northeast Bradford was unable to overcome Elk Lake’s second-quarter surge and consistent scoring throughout the game.
With the win, Elk Lake continues to build momentum early in the season, while Northeast Bradford will look to regroup and improve on both ends of the floor as the schedule moves forward.
