Eli Zimmerman's Stellar Season Earns Him Mr PA Football Honors

Eli Zimmerman, the dynamic running back from Northwestern Lehigh High School, has been awarded the 2024 Mr. PA Football accolade for small schools (Class 1A-3A). This esteemed honor recognizes Pennsylvania's most outstanding high school football players, placing Zimmerman among notable past recipients such as Saquon Barkley (2014), Miles Sanders (2015), Julian Fleming and Daequan Hardy (2018), Stone Saunders (2022), and Alex Erby (2023).

Zimmerman's Remarkable Season

Zimmerman's senior year was nothing short of extraordinary. He amassed 2,665 rushing yards on 249 carries, averaging an impressive 10.7 yards per attempt, and scored 27 rushing touchdowns. In the passing game, he contributed 28 receptions for 277 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Zimmerman recorded 56 tackles and six interceptions. His special teams prowess was evident with six punt return touchdowns, underscoring his versatility and game-changing abilities.

Northwestern Lehigh's Historic Championship Run

The Tigers, led by Zimmerman's stellar performances, clinched their first PIAA Class 3A state championship, completing a perfect 16-0 season. The championship game was a thrilling contest against Avonworth High School, culminating in a 36-33 overtime victory. Zimmerman was instrumental, rushing for 123 yards and three touchdowns, including the decisive 10-yard score in overtime that sealed the title.
