Dunmore 14u Ninas Top Jessup in Offense-Filled Matchup at Jessup Sports Complex

Dunmore wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. In the top of the first, Ava Walsh worked a walk, followed by RBI singles from Prisco and Palickar to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Nancy Mecca added to the momentum in the second with an RBI single to left, and the Ninas piled on three more runs in the third. Haley Chapman brought in one with a groundout before Caroline Dougher laced a two-run single, stretching the lead to 7-1.

Jessup’s offense came alive in the sixth with a five-run rally. They capitalized on two costly Dunmore errors, and Alexis Davis came through with a two-run single, pulling Jessup within four. But it was too little, too late, as Dunmore’s early advantage held strong.

Dunmore got contributions across the board, led by Prisco’s 3-for-4 performance with an RBI. Dougher added a 2-for-3 outing with two RBIs and two total bases. Ciocco stayed perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a walk, while Palickar matched her with two hits and an RBI. Dunmore totaled 13 hits and showed great patience with seven walks — including two each from Walsh, Ciocco, and Izabella Stavisky.

On the mound, Peyton Ancherani opened the game with two shutout innings, striking out three. Emma Farris tossed two more solid frames, allowing two runs and earning the win. Ava Walsh closed things out, giving up five runs — all unearned — but struck out three to hold off Jessup’s late push.

Jessup was led by Alexis Davis, who reached base three times and drove in two runs. Emily Miller, Emilia Maurer, Leah Troy, Kiley Burke, and Davis all chipped in one hit apiece, while the team worked six total walks.

Dunmore now turns its attention to a Thursday matchup against Tripp 2.
