Wyoming Area High School Graduate | Junior at Winthrop University
Sofia Sabatini is the perfect combination of excellence on the field and in the classroom. A proud Wyoming Area graduate, she is now a junior at Winthrop University, where she plays on the women’s lacrosse team and majors in Biology. Sofia is a consistent Dean’s List student and balances the pressure of Division I athletics well as she maintains her 3.5 GPA.
On the field, Sofia thrives in Winthrop’s close-knit, family-style team culture, forming deep bonds with her teammates. Her goals for the upcoming season are centered on being the best version of herself and a great teammate in every moment.
She credits much of her character and work ethic to her uncle Carmen, whose strength in the face of two strokes continues to inspire her daily. "I want to make him proud," she says. His perseverance fuels her determination, and she models her mindset after his resilience.
Her personal motto is a true testament to her character: “Never stop pushing yourself. Always continue to work hard every day and you will find success.”
After graduation, Sofia plans to attend graduate school with the goal of becoming a cardiac perfusionist. Her dedication, focus, and compassion will undoubtedly make an impact in any field.
With her strong values, determination, and love for her team and family, Sofia Sabatini is a powerful example of leadership on and off the field.
