The reigning District 11 6A champions opened their title defense with a gritty 19-6 win over George Washington. The Trojans leaned on their defense to hold the Eagles in check and now face an early-season test against #9 Freedom in a key EPC South showdown.
Auburn commit Payton Falzone showed why he's one of the top quarterbacks in the state, torching Hazleton Area for 265 passing yards in a 46-7 rout. With Whitehall coming to town in Week 2, expect another fireworks show in a highly anticipated matchup.
Running back Sean Steckert was unstoppable in a 35-14 win over Quakertown, racking up 203 yards and four scores. The Spartans look locked in early and will take on Blue Mountain next as they continue to build momentum.
QB Cole Ordway put on a dual-threat clinic in a thrilling 26-20 win over Central Bucks West, rushing for 163 yards and 3 TDs while adding 130 passing yards. The Red Rovers hit the road to face Spring-Ford in Week 2, aiming to stay perfect.
The Konkrete Kids earned a hard-fought 20-14 win at Pennsbury, thanks to a late 4th quarter touchdown connection between Gavin Taff and Sincere Wadlington. They'll host East Stroudsburg South next—a team looking to bounce back after falling to Abington Heights.
The Dogmanits duo struck early in a commanding 38-14 win over Wilkes-Barre Area. QB Tanner Dogmanits and WR Talon Dogmanits are developing into one of the top offensive pairings in the region. A major test awaits at #2 Nazareth in Week 2.
First-year head coach Joe Bernard’s Golden Hawks made a statement with a 28-10 win over East Pennsboro, powered by a stout defense. They'll look to keep the momentum rolling against #8 Emmaus in a pivotal early-season EPC clash.
The Green Hornets were blanked at home, 30-0, by Suburban One powerhouse Neshaminy. A tough bounce-back assignment looms as they travel to face #7 Bethlehem Catholic in Week 2.
A rough start for the Patriots, who fell hard at home to Downingtown West, 40-7. Things don’t get easier with a Week 2 road matchup against top-ranked Parkland. Freedom will need to regroup quickly to avoid an 0-2 hole.
New head coach Jacob Reichard begins his tenure with a 19-16 nail-biter over District 3’s Trinity. The Vikings now travel to Liberty for a rivalry matchup, with the Hurricanes looking to re-enter the rankings after falling to Pennridge.
On the Outside Looking In:
East Stroudsburg South and Liberty both slide out of the Top 10 after Week 1 losses, but have opportunities to climb back in with strong Week 2 performances.
Pleasant Valley and Stroudsburg are among the teams to watch in the coming weeks.

#1 Parkland vs #9 Freedom
#2 Nazareth vs #6 Whitehall
#7 Bethlehem Catholic vs #8 Emmaus

District XI 2025 Football Small School Rankings – Week 1 Recap
The lights are on, the bands are playing, and small-school football across District XI is officially back. Week 1 brought a slate of impressive performances, dramatic finishes, and new names stepping into the spotlight. With ten teams kicking off the season undefeated, the race for the top spot is already intense—and it's just getting started.
Here’s how the D11 Small School Rankings shape up after Week 1:
The Tigers looked sharp in their opening win over Wilson Area and remain the top team in the small-school rankings. With a strong core of returning talent and discipline in all three phases, Northwestern now turns its attention to a fierce rivalry in Week 2—the annual Mountain Road Rumble against #7 Northern Lehigh.
Last year’s wild 71-64 season opener wasn’t repeated, but the Crusaders still handled business to start 2025 1-0. Led by veteran leadership and a balanced attack, NDGP prepares to host Salisbury in Week 2 as they aim to keep pace with the Tigers.
Luke Miller exploded for 240 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns in a statement win for the Spartans. Their powerful ground game will be on display again in Week 2 when they travel to face Tamaqua, a team looking to rebound after a tough loss to Pen Argyl.
The Hurricanes pulled off a thrilling last-second 34-27 win over Blue Mountain, capped by Colton Reber’s game-winning touchdown and a 205-yard rushing day. They’ll try to build on that dramatic win against Panther Valley next.
Brady Shomper was in midseason form already, accounting for four total touchdowns in a dominant 54-0 rout of Upper Dauphin Area. The Vikings look primed for another run at the top and will face Mahanoy Area in Week 2.
Sophomore quarterback Braden Rohn turned heads in Week 1, rushing for three touchdowns and passing for another in a 42-21 win over Bangor. Saucon faces a tough test this week in 1-0 Palisades—a matchup with early-season playoff implications.
Chris Frame was everywhere in a 41-26 win over Lehighton, running for 217 yards and 3 TDs while also recording an interception on defense. Now, it’s rivalry week as the Bulldogs host #1 Northwestern Lehigh in the much-anticipated Mountain Road Rumble. Expect fireworks.
The Olympians spoiled Palmerton’s opener with a 28-14 road win, led by a standout performance from Cole Lazorick, who totaled nearly 300 yards and a touchdown while also grabbing an interception. They return home in Week 2 to host Pottsville.
The Rough Riders opened with a 28-0 shutout of Mahanoy Area, behind two touchdowns from Manny Bolmer. Catty’s defense looks ready to challenge any offense, and Wilson Area is next on the slate for a Friday night home clash.
A late-game pick-six by Jakob Pietraszkiewicz sealed a gritty 14-6 win over Tamaqua. The Green Knights’ defense is already in midseason form and will look to keep things rolling when they host Palmerton on August 30.
