As the regular season ends, brackets are crystallizing across District 2. Amid dominant programs and dark-horse threats, expect storylines of rivalry, revenge, and late-season momentum to define the playoffs.

Class 1A: Montrose Tops Seedings, But Threats Lurk

Montrose remains the favorite to secure the top seed in 1A, with a strong campaign and stable form against most rivals. But Holy Redeemer’s season (7–9) has delivered its share of fireworks — including a signature win over Montrose, a reminder that postseason chaos is always possible.

Holy Cross (9–5–2) continues to be one of the most structured and resilient programs in District 2, while Blue Ridge (7–5–1) brings dynamic pace and counterattack potential that can flip a game quickly.

No clear favorite exists in this bracket. Between Montrose’s consistency and Redeemer’s giant-slaying ability, 1A could produce the most unpredictable run in the field.

Class 2A: Rivals Collide — Wyoming Area and Lake-Lehman Split

The 2A picture features a familiar storyline — Wyoming Area and Lake-Lehman, two powerhouse rivals that split their regular-season meetings. Wyoming Area claimed the first matchup 3–0, while Lake-Lehman answered with a 4–2 win in the rematch, setting the stage for an explosive postseason meeting.

Both teams have shown elite-level consistency, sitting atop the WVC with dominant goal differentials and seasoned rosters. Mid Valley, Western Wayne, and Honesdale round out the next tier, each capable of spoiling a semifinal if either powerhouse slips. Expect their eventual clash to be one of the most intense games in this year’s district tournament.

Class 3A: Crestwood and Abington Heights in a Tier of Their Own

Crestwood (15–1–1) continues to set the pace in 3A, with commanding wins over Wilkes-Barre, Williamsport, and Abington Heights. Their only loss came on the road at Shikellamy (4–2), but the Comets have since been nearly flawless — including an 11–3 win over Wilkes-Barre and a 6–1 victory over Williamsport.

Abington Heights (15–1–1) remains right beside them, boasting a disciplined back line and balanced attack that have kept them near the top of District 2 all season. Valley View, North Pocono, and Dallas round out the bracket, but all eyes are on a potential championship meeting between Crestwood and Abington Heights — a matchup worthy of a district final.

Class 4A: Wilkes-Barre the Team to Beat

Wilkes-Barre (13–4–1) has maintained its reputation as one of the most complete programs in District 2, combining physical play with creative attacking options. The Wolfpack collected key wins over Hazleton, Pittston Area, and Valley West and enter the playoffs looking battle-tested.

Behind them, Williamsport, Hazleton, and Delaware Valley round out the contenders — all capable of making a push if they find form at the right time. Wilkes-Barre’s consistency and depth, however, make it the clear favorite entering postseason play.
