District 2 Football: Week 4 Recap

Scranton 51, West Scranton 6

Scranton won the Bell Game for the seventh straight time. Quarterback Brody Coyle threw one touchdown pass and added two more scores on the ground.


Mid Valley 42, Honesdale 21

Mason Vinansky led Mid Valley to victory with 246 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Brett Yanoski had two touchdown passes for the Spartans.


Pittston Area 64, Wyoming Valley West 20

Pittston scored over 45 points for the third time this year, and all three of those games have been wins. Paulie Ferentino threw for 291 yards, and had five touchdown passes along with five total incompletions for the Patriots.


Berwick 48, Hazleton 6

Berwick improves to 4-0 in part due to a 291 yard rushing performance and four touchdown game from Ty’Meere Wilkerson. Quarterback Ashton Smith added a passing and rushing touchdown.  


Lackawanna Trail 30, Dunmore 28

Lackawanna Trail won thanks to Isaac Ryon accounting for three total touchdowns, two on the ground and one through the air. It also helped that Dunmore botched a snap on a punt attempt, resulting in a go ahead safety. 


Dallas 24, Wilkes-Barre 21

Kicker Brandon Miller knocked in a game-winning field goal as time expired for Dallas to get its first win of the season. Mark Saracinaj burst onto the scene, rushing for 152 yards and a touchdown for the Mountaineers.   


Abington Heights 45, Valley View 7

Abington Heights rushed for over 300 yards en route to a dominating victory. Nick Bradley and Jayden Anglin combined for three rushing touchdowns and connected on the Comets’ only touchdown pass.


Carbondale 45, Holy Cross 15

Carbondale won their third straight game thanks to a dominant rushing attack. Caedon Voglino and Francisco Roman combined for over 220 rushing yards and four touchdowns.


Hanover Area 40, Old Forge 0

Hanover shutout an LFC team for the second straight week. Dewayne and Dawin Downey scored three touchdowns combined.    


Scranton Prep 49, Delaware Valley 44

Scranton Prep wins their first game of the season in a game of the year contender. Will McPartland returned for the Cavaliers at quarterback and rushed for two touchdowns and threw for five more. 


Crestwood 49, Western Wayne 7

Crestwood scored 40 for the second straight week to get their second straight win. Jaedon Shedlock completed all ten of his passes, threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two more.


Wyoming Area 38, Lakeland 14

Wyoming Area remained undefeated and picked up a massive win on the road. Jack Gravine rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns. 


Morrisville 42, Montrose 8

Montrose lost their second straight game. Sawyer Aukema had the only touchdown for the Meteors.    


Tunkhannock 42, Nanticoke 6

Tunkhannock improved to 2-2 with a win over Nanticoke. Lucas Ciprich rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns. 


Riverside 49, Lake-Lehman 7

Riverside returned to form in a statement win over Lake-Lehman. Brayden Rose scored four touchdowns for the Vikings on the ground. 


Holy Redeemer 27, Susquehanna 20

Holy Redeemer beat Susquehanna for their first win since 2022. The Royals scored eight points in the fourth quarter.  


North Pocono 38, Wallenpaupack 13

North Pocono kept up their undefeated season against a Wallenpaupack team that beat them last year. Joe Briskie rushed for two Trojan touchdowns.
