Delaware Valley 49, Scranton 19
Delaware Valley took care of business to finish with a .500 record and secure the No. 3 seed in the District 2 5A playoffs. Devin Estevez and Mike Iuzzolino both ran for two touchdowns, and Warriors Quarterback Colin McGarvey had one passing and one rushing touchdown.
Honesdale 41, West Scranton 40
Honesdale was able to come through in the clutch with a blocked field goal on the last play of the game to seal the win. Running back Gabe Duda rushed for 384 yards and five touchdowns.
Wyoming Area 41, Pittston Area 22
One of the most anticipated games of the weekend certainly brought the offensive fireworks many expected. The Warriors were able to pull away, outscoring the Patriots 22-0 in the second half. Running back Nick Ciampi rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns for Wyoming Area.
North Pocono 24, Scranton Prep 21
North Pocono capped off an undefeated regular season thanks to the superhuman efforts of Cole West and Chase Zimmerman. West not only threw a game-winning touchdown to Zimmerman on fourth and seven, but West also hauled in a game-winning interception. Zimmerman had a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown.
Carbondale 20, Old Forge 14
The Chargers held on and shut out Old Forge in the fourth quarter to win their regular season finale and finish with a 6-4 record. Carbondale running back Francisco Roman rushed for all three Chargers’ touchdowns.
Williamsport 28, Wilkes-Barre 21
In a potential district championship preview, the Millionaires upset the Wolfpack at home thanks to a fourth quarter rushing touchdown by Tevin Williams. Williams also had three touchdown passes in the contest.
Lackawanna Trail 40, Riverside 14
Lackawanna Trail won its third straight LFC Division III title, partly thanks to a 370 yard, five touchdown game from running back Isaac Ryon. The Lions also had their best defensive game of the year, as they held the Vikings to a season low 14 points.
Crestwood 49, Wyoming Valley West 14
Crestwood secured its spot as the No. 4 seed in the 4A playoffs thanks to a statement win over Wyoming Valley West. Comets Quarterback Jaden Shedlock threw for three touchdowns.
Valley View 20, Wallenpaupack 7
Valley View secured a home playoff game next week with its win. The Cougars had another stellar defensive game, not allowing a score until the final two and a half minutes when the game was decidedly over.
Dunmore 35, Western Wayne 14
Dunmore took care of business against Western Wayne to win its fourth straight game. They will face Riverside in the first round of the District 2 2A Playoffs in a rematch from Week 1 when the Vikings won 17-14 in overtime.
Abington Heights 44, Hazleton 14
Nick Bradley returned for Abington Heights this week and looked dominant, completing nine of 11 passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns. Their win and Pittston’s loss allowed the Comets to secure the No. 1 seed in the 5A bracket.
Delaware County Christian 30, Montrose 6
Montrose ends its season with a tough loss to a non-district opponent. The Meteors finished 3-7 and may return to LFC play next year.
Dallas 44, Lake-Lehman 6
Dallas kept the Old Shoe for a fourth straight season thanks to a five touchdown game from sophomore quarterback Talan Geskey. Four of those touchdowns were passing, with two going to his brother Logan Geskey.
Hanover Area 63, Nanticoke 0
Hanover Area secured the No. 4 seed in the 3A playoffs thanks to a big-time win over their biggest rival. All six wins this year for the Hawkeyes were shutouts.
Midd-West 34, Holy Redeemer 26
Holy Redeemer fell in a competitive game, but will still be the No. 4 seed in the 2A playoffs. The Royals may return to WVC division play next season.
Lakeland 28, Mid Valley 14
Mid Valley fought hard in a game they needed to win to keep their playoff hopes alive, but two Lakeland touchdowns in the fourth quarter proved to be too much to overcome. Chiefs’ Quarterback David Naniewicz scored both fourth-quarter touchdowns on the ground.
Berwick 53, Tunkhannock 0
Berwick caps off an undefeated regular season with a shutout win over Tunkhannock. Ty’Meere Wilkerson rushed for 215 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries.
Susquehanna 21, Holy Cross 20
Susquehanna got its first win of the season thanks to the defense stopping a two-point conversion. Holy Cross will now wait to see if they get an invitation to play in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
