The latest District 2 Coaches Poll has taken shape, and with the postseason fast approaching, the top five teams are beginning to separate themselves — setting up what could be one of the most competitive playoff stretches in recent memory.
Crestwood continues to sit atop the poll, proving week after week why they’re the standard in District 2. The Comets have handled a demanding Class AA schedule with consistency and balance, entering the postseason as the team to beat. They could see a familiar face in Dallas, a program that has quietly pieced together an impressive season of its own. A Crestwood-Dallas rematch in the Class AA bracket would be one to circle.
In Class A, the path to the championship runs through Wyoming Area, the defending district champions. The Warriors have looked sharp once again, backed by experience and timely scoring. Right behind them, Lake-Lehman remains a legitimate threat and will look to avenge last year’s overtime loss to Wyoming Area. Lackawanna Trail rounds out the top five, emerging as a dangerous dark horse capable of shaking up the A bracket.
With postseason brackets taking shape, each of these programs enters October knowing that every game could define their season. Different classifications, same goal — raising District 2 gold.
