OLD FORGE, PA — Angelo DiMauro was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, and Jake Bartnikowski handled business on the mound as Old Forge cruised to a 15-0 win over Holy Cross on Monday afternoon.
Old Forge wasted no time, erupting for six runs in the bottom of the first inning. The early barrage included an RBI double by TJ DiMattia, a two-run single from Luke Olivieri, and a triple from Frank Pero. DiMauro capped off the inning with a sharp RBI single, the first of his three hits on the day.
The Blue Devils kept piling on, scoring in every inning behind a patient approach at the plate, finishing with 13 hits and eight walks. Bartnikowski helped his own cause with three RBIs and picked up the win on the mound, tossing four shutout innings, allowing just two hits.
Frank Pero, TJ DiMattia, and Robby Solfanelli also delivered key hits, while Elio Castaldi drove in a run in the fourth to help stretch the lead.
Holy Cross was held in check offensively but got hits from Freddy Ceccacci and AJ Piestrak, with Ceccacci adding a pair of stolen bases to spark some energy on the basepaths.
