In a highly anticipated clash between two of the area’s top-ranked boys’ lacrosse teams, Delaware Valley delivered a statement win, defeating previously unbeaten Abington Heights 16-5. The game, played at Abington Heights under cold and rainy conditions, marked the first loss of the season for the Comets, who entered the matchup with a perfect 6-0 record.
Delaware Valley, now boasting an impressive 8-1 record, showcased their offensive firepower right from the start, taking control by halftime and maintaining their dominance throughout. Previously, Del Val’s only loss came earlier in the season against Parkland, but this victory firmly reestablished them as one of the area’s elite teams.
Offensive Leaders:
P. LaRocco led the charge for Delaware Valley with a stellar performance, recording four goals and four assists. J. Barbalich added three goals, while C. McGarvey scored twice. M. Iuzzolino and N. Rabolli combined for two goals and four assists, while T. Husejnovic chipped in with two goals and one assist. Additional scoring contributions came from C. Devaney, B. Mackey, and P. Leslie, highlighting the depth and balance of the Warriors’ attack.
Defensive Standouts:
Goalkeepers R. Smith and K. Heath were equally crucial in securing the win, making five saves each to stifle Abington Heights’ scoring opportunities.

Despite the loss, the Comets fought hard, with G. Anders, R. Azar, and L. Fedor each scoring a goal, and T. Loss adding two more. Goalie Nohalnik did his best to keep the game within reach, making ten saves in challenging conditions.
